HERO STARTS WITH HER is an interactive workshop, school programme & national movement which aims to prevent, raise awareness and combat the negative effects of female bullying while promoting kindness, courage and positivity as a way of life.

 

In recent years, there has been an increased rise of female relational bullying also known as ‘girl against girl crime’. Social Media, technology, and the internet have all been contributing factors to this surge in negative behaviour amongst girls however HERO STARTS WITH HER firmly believes that these factors do not have to have a harmful impact on teenage lives and can in fact nurture positive growth and communication between girls.

 

HERO STARTS WITH HER is an initiative set up on the powerful belief that every girl has the power to be an everyday hero; whether she decides to be a hero in her classroom, in her school, in her community, in her own life or in the lives of others around her.

The interactive workshop gives female students the opportunity to discover for themselves how to work together and engage positively with their peers, how to constructively reconcile differences, how to reclaim technology (including social media) in favour of the social good movement and most importantly how to unlock her own unique, everyday hero ability which aims to stop bullying behaviour and cultivate healthy, positive relationships between girls. 

 

The WORKSHOP is an initial way of introducing girls to an 'everyday hero' attitude and the social media MOVEMENT continues to remind girls to stick with it and adopt the HERO STARTS WITH HER lifestyle well into the future.
